“Rocks in my path? I keep them all. With them I shall build my castle.”
― Nemo Nox
What a great reminder that you can make use of the obstacles you face. We all face rocks. Often we trip on them. But even when you stumble you are still moving forward. (Just get up and keep going if you do a face plant.)
If you pick up the rocks you can reuse them later. Won’t those rocks become too heavy to carry and drag you down? Not if you carry them correctly. Since in this metaphor the rocks represent challenges and difficult situations, what you really want to carry with you is the lessons you learn from those challenges and NOT the baggage.
If one of your rocks is a situation that made you very upset, you do not need to continue to carry the upset with you, carry what you learned from the situation. Why were you upset? What did you do about it? What will you do next time? In this way you make the rocks lighter. They become smaller or perhaps they become hollow. The heavy part is the negative emotions; the lessons are the light part.
They are your rocks; you can do whatever you want with them!
If you see rocks in your path this week, pick them up and use them and build a stronger Y-O-U!
